Job summary

Boschendal is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team on the Worcester estate. You will carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across farming, hospitality, and residential operations, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires reading schematics, performing inspections, and supporting CoC compliance and performance testing of power infrastructure. Apply your workmanship and teamwork in a dynamic farm setting with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised Trade Test (Red Seal).
• Minimum of 5 years’ practical electrical experience.
• Valid South African Code B driver’s licence.
• Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.
• Experience with CoC repairs and testing.
• Good understanding of SANS 10142 and applicable electrical regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs across the Boschendal estate.
• Install, repair and maintain distribution boards, wiring, lighting, plug circuits, motors and distribution systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

• Fault-find, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Conduct root-cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
• Restore critical electrical services within agreed response times.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical Installations, Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs across the Boschendal estate.
• Install, repair, and maintain distribution boards, electrical wiring, lighting systems, plug circuits, motors, and electrical distribution systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to minimise operational downtime.
• Work across agricultural, hospitality, commercial, and residential operations.
• Fault-find, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Conduct root-cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Restore critical electrical services within agreed response times.

Compliance & Certificates of Compliance (CoC)

• Complete electrical testing and assist with Certificate of Compliance (CoC) requirements.
• Ensure all installations and alterations comply with SANS 10142 and applicable electrical regulations.
• Report any non-compliant installations, conditions, or practices immediately.
• Install and maintain inverters, generators, and backup power systems where required.
• Support commissioning and performance testing of critical power infrastructure.

Drawings & Technical Documentation

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical plans.
• Complete electronic job cards accurately, including labour, materials, photographs, and site notes.

Tools, Vehicles & Stores

• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and professional condition.
• Assist with stock control and material collection from suppliers when required.
• Prevent loss, damage, misuse, or wastage of company assets.

Health, Safety & Teamwork

• Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and company procedures.
• Participate in daily team meetings and communicate effectively.
• Provide support to other maintenance functions when operationally required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
