Job summary

Smart4 Energy seeks an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control for a major utility-scale renewable energy EPC project in South Africa. You will own ITPs, QPs and QCPs, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with international standards throughout civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C works.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA/QC experience within EPC projects.
• Experience as QA/QC Manager / Quality Lead / Quality Manager.
• At least one utility-scale Solar PV project in a QA/QC leadership role.
• Exposure to civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C works.
• Strong experience with ITPs, Project Quality Plans and Quality Control Plans.
• Experience managing and auditing subcontractor quality activities.
• Knowledge of NDT, welding, cable installation, trackers and PV module installation.
• Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions and quality investigations.
• Exposure to commissioning, handover and final project dossiers.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and international standards including ASTM, ASME, ISO and IEEE.
• Experience leading QC Supervisors / Inspectors and engaging with clients/subcontractors.
• Strong quality reporting, document control and audit capability.

Responsibilities

QA/QC Manager | Utility-Scale Renewable Energy | South Africa

An established international EPC and renewable energy organisation is looking to appoint an experienced QA/QC Manager to join a major energy infrastructure project in South Africa.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Quality professional with hands‑on experience delivering EPC construction projects, ideally within utility‑scale Solar PV, renewable energy or power infrastructure.

The successful candidate will take ownership of project Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the construction lifecycle, ensuring compliance with the Project Quality Plan, ISO 9001, Inspection and Test Plans, applicable international standards and client requirements.

• 5+ years' QA/QC experience within EPC projects
• Previous experience as a QA/QC Manager / Quality Manager / Quality Lead
• At least one utility‑scale Solar PV project in a QA/QC leadership capacity
• Exposure across civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C works
• Strong experience with ITPs, Project Quality Plans and Quality Control Plans
• Experience managing and auditing subcontractor quality activities
