Job summary

Cartrack in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Protection & Recovery Agent to join our security team. You will respond to vehicle theft incidents, locate stolen assets using GPS, and coordinate with the control room and law enforcement to maximize recoveries.

Applicants must have PSIRA Grade C, handgun/Machine Carbine competency, and a Code EB license, with several years of armed response experience. The role includes long 12‑hour shifts and collaboration with private recovery units.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• PSIRA Grade C - minimum required.
• Business Competency in handgun / “Machine Carbine”.
• Valid Code EB drivers’ license.
• Armed response course - preferred.
• 3 years Security armed response experience in related roles.
• Vehicle Tracking and Recovery experience - advantageous.
• Tactical experience - advantageous.
• Ability to work in a highly stressful environment.
• Good communication skills and excellent organisational skills.
• 12 consecutive hour shifts, 3 days then 3 nights and 3 days off.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid and effective ground response to maximise recovery rate and service.
• Monitor and respond to real-time tracking alerts from control room or clients.
• Use GPS tracking to locate and follow stolen or hijacked vehicles.
• Maintain continuous communication with the control room during operations.
• Conduct follow-ups on signal losses, tampering alerts, and suspicious movements.
• Coordinate and execute recovery operations with law enforcement and private units.
• Attend to recovery scenes, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Provide accurate, timely updates on recovery progress to control room and management.
• Assist with securing recovered vehicles and arranging towing or storage.
• Complete detailed recovery reports after each operation.
• Provide personal protection from time to time as requested.
