About the Role

Our client, a key player in the public utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects related to water, electricity, or gas distribution in the Upington, Northern Cape region.

This role is essential for ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of essential services through the management of new installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects.

You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

This position offers a fully remote work arrangement, allowing for strategic planning and coordination, with potential for periodic site visits.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in utility infrastructure projects, excellent leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of engineering principles and project management methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and closing of utility infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the utilities sector (water, electricity, gas, or telecommunications infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of utility project lifecycles, construction methods, and materials.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects with significant budgets (e.g., R5 million+).
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and environmental compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or a related technical field.
• Experience working effectively in a fully remote setting, coordinating complex projects.
• Ability to travel to project sites in the Upington, Northern Cape region as needed for oversight.
