About the Role

Our client, a major player in the logistics and distribution sector headquartered in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , is seeking a proactive and analytical Project Manager to lead critical supply chain optimization initiatives. This role is vital for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the overall performance of our client's extensive supply chain network. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, implementing strategic improvements, and ensuring seamless integration of new processes and technologies. You will collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and IT teams to drive transformative change. Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for supply chain improvement initiatives, from initial analysis to full implementation.
• Analyze existing supply chain processes to identify areas for enhancement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service levels.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and timely execution of tasks.
• Implement and manage new supply chain technologies and software solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
• Prepare regular project status reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a specialized focus on supply chain, logistics, or operations management.
• Proven experience in successfully delivering projects that have resulted in measurable improvements in efficiency or cost savings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Familiarity with supply chain best practices, inventory management, and logistics operations.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
