Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and modernization of industrial facilities in Klerksdorp. You will manage projects from initial assessment and planning through to construction, commissioning, and handover, working closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.

This role requires a strong track record in industrial project delivery, leadership, and the ability to drive safety and environmental compliance across sites in the North

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in project management in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects involving construction, equipment installation and systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of industrial processes, safety standards and environmental compliance in SA.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and completion of diverse industrial facility projects including new builds, expansions and refurbishments.
• Develop detailed scopes, budgets, schedules and resource plans.
• Manage contracts with external vendors and construction teams, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
• Oversee site activities with health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and procurement to meet project requirements.
• Monitor risks and implement corrective actions to maintain project integrity.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and modernization of industrial facilities in Klerksdorp . You will manage projects from initial assessment and planning through to construction, commissioning, and handover, working closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of diverse industrial facility projects , including new builds, expansions, and refurbishments.
• Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage contracts with external vendors, suppliers, and construction teams, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to timelines.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in an industrial setting.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to ensure project requirements are met.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management , with a strong focus on industrial or manufacturing facility projects.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects involving construction, equipment installation, and system integration.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial processes, safety standards (e.g., OSHA equivalents), and environmental compliance in South Africa .
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
