Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead critical energy infrastructure projects in and around Port Elizabeth. The role requires strategic thinking and a track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

You will oversee all phases from initiation to close-out, coordinating planning, execution and stakeholder management. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 10+ years in project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (from Requirements).
• 10+ years of experience in project management, with 5+ years in energy infrastructure (from Requirements).
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Experience with budget management, risk assessment and contract negotiation.

This senior role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing all project phases, including planning, execution, monitoring, and stakeholder management. This is a prime opportunity for an experienced project manager to drive significant developments in the energy sector within the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Manage project execution, coordinating cross-functional teams and external contractors.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Ensure effective stakeholder communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• PMP or Prince 2 certification is highly advantageous.
• 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on energy infrastructure projects .
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale capital projects from inception to close-out.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Experience with budget management, risk assessment, and contract negotiation.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with strong ties to the Eastern Cape business community.
