Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee a Solar PV and BESS infrastructure project in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 7–10 years of relevant experience in managing EPC or infrastructure projects.

The role entails driving project planning, resource coordination, and contract management, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Proficiency with MS Project and Primavera is essential for this dynamic position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of a large Solar PV & BESS infrastructure project
• Drive project planning, scheduling, execution, and resource coordination
• Oversee design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
• Manage NEC contract administration including early warnings and compensation events
• Track project costs, cash flow, forecasting, and commercial performance
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and project documentation
• Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies
• Support successful delivery within project timelines, budget, and technical scope

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience managing EPC or infrastructure projects
• Strong NEC contract management and project administration experience
• Experience within Solar PV, BESS, renewable energy, or power infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and grid integration
• Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, and project planning tools
• Excellent stakeholder, contractor, and client management skills
• Strong cost control, scheduling, and reporting capability
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic site and project environments
• Strong safety, quality, and compliance mindset
