Job summary

Flink Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a major bridge infrastructure project in Gauteng. Qualifications

• Project management experience on bridge construction projects.
• Registration as a Professional Construction Manager (SACPCMP) or Construction Project Manager.
• Minimum 8 years in civil engineering construction; 7+ years on bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of bridge construction from start to completion.
• Develop and implement project execution plans and resource strategies.
• Manage scope, programme, budget, quality, safety, and contractual obligations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, safety officers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee piling, foundations, substructures, superstructures, concrete works, deck construction, and roadworks.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Manage risks, claims, variations, and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure OH&S, environmental and quality compliance.
• Liaise with clients and regulators; present monthly reports.
• Drive productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager with a proven track record in bridge construction to lead the successful delivery of a major bridge infrastructure project. This is a 7-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, commercial management, quality, safety, and timely completion of the project while ensuring full compliance with contractual, statutory, and client requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of bridge construction projects from commencement to final completion.
• Develop and implement project execution plans, construction methodologies, and resource strategies.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget, quality, safety, and contractual obligations.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including Site Agents, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Safety Officers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee all aspects of bridge construction, including piling, foundations, substructures, superstructures, reinforced concrete works, prestressed concrete, steel bridge components, deck construction, retaining structures, and associated roadworks.
• Monitor project progress against programme and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Manage project risks, claims, variations, and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, environmental requirements, and quality management systems.
• Liaise with clients, consulting engineers, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare and present monthly progress, financial, and performance reports to senior management.
• Drive productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• NQF level in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Registration as a Professional Construction Manager and registered as a Professional Construction Manager or Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in civil engineering construction.
• At least 7 years' experience managing bridge construction projects in a Project Manager or Senior Site Agent capacity.
• Demonstrated experience delivering medium to large bridge infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of bridge construction methodologies, temporary works, structural concrete, piling, and associated civil engineering works.
• Experience working on SANRAL, provincial roads, or other major public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of GCC and/or FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 (advantageous), Microsoft Office
