Job summary

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Finance Project Manager to lead the finance workstream of a large-scale systems implementation across multiple countries. You will align accounting processes, controls, and data integrity within a new system landscape to support growth and scalability.

You will sit at the intersection of finance, technology, operations, and project delivery, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and robust governance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• /nProfessional qualifications such as CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent are advantageous.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or similar project management certification advantageous.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Project Manager to lead the finance workstream of a large-scale systems implementation and rollout across multiple countries. This role is ideal for a finance professional who understands both the intricacies of accounting and the discipline required to successfully deliver complex transformation projects.

You'll sit at the intersection of finance, technology, operations, and project delivery, ensuring that financial processes, controls, reporting structures, and data integrity are embedded into a new system landscape that supports future growth and scalability.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Finance Transformation & System Implementation

• Lead the end-to-end finance workstream throughout system design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support.
• Define and document finance requirements across:
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Procurement
• Ensure the solution supports both operational requirements and reporting objectives.
• Drive the successful rollout of finance processes across multiple operating entities.

Financial Reporting, Group Structures & Controls

• Implement and standardise a global chart of accounts across the organisation.
• Support multi-entity and multi-currency reporting requirements.
• Oversee intercompany accounting, consolidation requirements, and foreign currency reporting considerations.
• Strengthen financial controls, approval workflows, governance structures, and audit requirements.
• Ensure financial data integrity throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Data Migration & Go-Live Readiness

• Oversee financial data migration activities and validation processes.
• Coordinate testing cycles, reconciliation controls, and user acceptance testing.
• Manage cutover planning and go-live readiness activities.
• Ensure smooth transition and adoption by business users.

Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Coordinate internal finance teams, operational stakeholders, and implementation partners.
• Monitor project performance and elevate risks where necessary.


• Prepare project status updates and executive-level reporting.


• Facilitate steering committee and leadership reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Change Management & Business Readiness

• Drive finance-focused change management initiatives.


• Support training, communication, and user adoption strategies.


• Ensure business stakeholders are prepared for new processes and system changes.


• Manage the successful handover into business-as-usual operations.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.


• Professional qualifications such as CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA, or equivalent will be highly advantageous.


• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years' finance experience.


• Minimum 3 years' project management experience.


• Demonstrated experience leading finance system or ERP implementations.


• Experience within complex, multi-entity organisations.


• Exposure to multinational finance environments and group reporting structures.


• Industry experience within logistics, transport, distribution, supply chain, or similarly operational environments will be advantageous.
