MSP Staffing Pty is seeking a Project Engineer with Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) expertise to oversee technical delivery of utility-scale energy projects. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing interfaces and ensuring compliance across Southern and East Africa.

The candidate will travel to project sites, review technical documentation, and guide FAT/SAT/commissioning activities while mitigating risks and ensuring safety standards are met.

Formación

• 3+ years as Project Engineer in Solar PV and BESS.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient with PVsyst and HOMER for design and analysis.
• Strong CAD/ETAP/DIgSILENT/MS Project capabilities.
• Experience reviewing engineering studies and technical documentation.
• FAT/SAT and commissioning knowledge for medium-voltage equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead technical project execution from handover to installation, commissioning and close-out.
• Validate scopes, specs, contracts and performance guarantees.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, EPCs and customers.
• Review engineering drawings and system designs.
• Oversee interfaces involving battery systems, inverters and controllers.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, commissioning and technical acceptance activities.
• Identify and manage technical risks and design changes.
• Support battery sizing, system design and pre-construction work.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Engineer with experience in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to oversee the technical delivery of utility-scale energy projects. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the advancement of renewable energy solutions across Southern and East Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical project execution from engineering handover through installation, commissioning, final acceptance and close-out.
• Validate project scopes, technical specifications, contractual obligations and performance guarantees.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, EPC contractors and customers.
• Review and manage engineering drawings, technical studies, cable plans, communication architectures and system designs.
• Oversee technical interfaces involving battery systems, inverters, power plant controllers, monitoring systems and metering.
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and technical acceptance activities.
• Identify and manage technical risks, design changes, deviations and project documentation.
• Support battery sizing, system design and application engineering during pre-construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, safety regulations and project requirements.
• Travel to project sites across Southern and East Africa as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years' experience as a Project Engineer in Solar PV and BESS or BESS systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of solar PV and BESS software, such as PVsyst and HOMER.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering software, including CAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT and MS Project.
• Experience reviewing engineering studies, calculations and technical design documentation.
• Knowledge of FAT, SAT and commissioning procedures for medium-voltage equipment.
• Understanding of applicable regional regulatory frameworks and technical compliance requirements.
