Job summary

Weir Minerals Shared Services Proprietary Limited in Johannesburg seeks a Project Engineer to lead project lifecycles from handover to delivery at client sites. You will coordinate with product specialists, sales teams and regional branches to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of data packs and manuals.

The role requires a BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of project management experience, with strong ERP and MS Office skills, plus excellent communication and analytical

What you’ll do

• Project Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle from internal hand-over to customer delivery, ensuring all deliverables such as Data packs and O&M manuals meet client specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Technical and Commercial Engagement: Engage proactively with clients on technical and commercial matters, maintaining clear communication and providing regular project status updates.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal product specialists, sales teams, and regional branches to support transport and commissioning activities. Drive project schedules and coordinate resources to meet agreed deadlines.
• Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, conduct post-project negotiations, and ensure adherence to HSE and housekeeping standards.
• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to client sites or regional offices to support project delivery and coordination.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves

• BSc/B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Nice-to-have(s)

• PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification.
