The role requires SACAP registration, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, and a minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience, with strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned architectural design firm with a strong presence in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , is seeking a talented and driven Project Architect to lead the design and delivery of exciting mixed-use development projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on architecturally significant and commercially viable projects that contribute to the urban fabric of Durban and beyond. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring design excellence, client satisfaction, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. You will be a key player in a collaborative team, contributing your expertise in design, technical detailing, and project coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for mixed-use development projects from concept design through to construction documentation and administration in Durban .
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and specifications.
• Coordinate design efforts with engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Manage client communications and presentations, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in throughout the design process.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, planning regulations, and zoning ordinances in KwaZulu-Natal .
• Oversee the construction phase, conducting site visits and responding to queries to ensure the project is built according to design intent.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.

• Manage project schedules and contribute to budget control efforts.
• Proactively identify and resolve design and construction issues.

Requirements
