Job summary

Leading Professional Quantity Surveying Consultancy in Cape Town seeks an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for high-value projects and provide a full quantity surveying service across the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with clients, architects and contractors, managing costs, contracts and financial reporting to ensure value and compliance.

Qualifications

• Professionally registered Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with SACQSP.
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience in PQS / professional consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management.
• Excellent communication and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive Quantity Surveying services from feasibility through to final account.
• Cost planning, estimating and cost management.

A highly respected and established Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) practice in Cape Town is looking to appoint an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professionally registered Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take responsibility for high-value projects and work within a respected consultancy environment.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive Quantity Surveying service across a range of building and property projects, working closely with clients, architects, consultants and contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full Quantity Surveying functions from feasibility through to final account
• Cost planning, estimating and cost management
• Preparation and evaluation of Bills of Quantities
• Tender documentation and tender evaluation
• Valuations and payment certificates
• Variation and change-order management
• Contract administration
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Final accounts
• Client and professional team liaison
• Providing professional QS advice throughout the project lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS

• BSc/BTech/BCom in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Professionally Registered Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with SACQSP
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
• Previous experience within a PQS / professional consultancy environment
• Strong building-sector Quantity Surveying experience
• Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and cost management
• Strong communication and client-management skills
• Ability to manage projects independently from inception through to completion
• Proficiency in relevant QS software
