Job summary

RPO Recruitment is seeking a professionally registered Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s Cape Town Northern Suburbs office, delivering expert QS services across diverse property development and construction projects from feasibility through to final account.

The role requires SACQSP registration as Pr.QS, 15–20 years’ experience, and proficiency with CCS/BuildSmart and advanced Excel, plus mentoring junior QS staff and strong JBCC contract knowledge (NEC, FIDIC, GCC).

Qualifications

• Must hold SACQSP registration as Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr.QS).
• 15–20 years of experience in quantity surveying.
• Proficiency with CCS, BuildSmart or similar software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for cost modeling, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience mentoring junior QS staff.
• Solid understanding of JBCC contracts and administration; working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or GCC forms.

Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying services from feasibility to final account.
• Mentor and supervise junior QS staff.
• Ensure compliance with SACQSP codes and contract forms (JBCC/NEC/FIDIC/GCC).

Requirements:

• Sc (QS) qualification
• Good standing with professional body
• Current registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr.QS)
• Adherence to SACQSP Code of Conduct and professional standards
• 15 – 20 years’ experience
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software (CCS, BuildSmart, or similar)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (cost modeling, analysis, reporting)
• Microsoft Office Suite Competency
• Experience managing and mentoring junior QS staff
• Comprehensive understanding of JBCC contracts and administration
• Working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or GCC contract forms
