Job summary

Takora Pty Ltd in South Africa seeks a Professional Construction Project Manager with a strong background in engineering, architecture or quantity surveying. The role requires SACPCMP registration and a relevant development & planning certificate for labour-intensive projects, plus 5–10 years of PM experience in engineering, QS or architecture and/or construction management.

Preference is given to candidates with local government experience and a proven track record across project lifecycles,

Job description

Applicants must have the following requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying.
• Must be registered with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager.
• Must have a Certificate for Development & Planning for Labour Intensive Construction Projects (NQF 7) from an accredited Training Service Provider.
• Must have 5 – 10 years of project management experience as Consultant (Engineering; QS or Architecture) and/or Construction Management Environment (post Pr registration).
• Preference for Project Management experience in Local Government and other spheres of government, including parastatals.
• Must have a proven track record of managing all aspects of a project lifecycle.
• Must have experience in strategic (pre) planning, risk management, or change management; budget and cost control.
• Must have detailed knowledge of Local & National Government processes and procedures for Project Planning and Implementation.
• Must have working knowledge of change management and performance evaluation processes.
• Must have knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Compliance Processes and Procedures.
• Must have knowledge of Environmental Compliance Processes and Procedures.
• Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management tools.
