EdUpStairs is seeking qualified nurses for Port Shepstone Regional Hospital (Various Wards). The role requires Grade 12 and diplomas in General Nursing Science and Midwifery, with current SANC registration for General Nurse and Midwife/Accoucher.

The incumbent will provide quality patient care, maintain records, and support shift leaders, while adhering to Batho Pele and Patients’ Rights Charter.

Qualifikationen

• Current SANC registration as General Nurse and Midwife/Accoucher.
• Current SANC receipt for 2026.
• No experience required for Grade 1.

Aufgaben

• Execute duties within prescripts of applicable legislation.
• Provide quality patient care in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
• Implement policies, clinical guidelines and all legislative requirements for nursing.
• Participate in Quality Improvement Programmes, Infection Prevention and Control and occupational health and safety.
• Uphold Batho Pele Principles and Patients’ Rights Charter.
• Provide a safe, therapeutic environment as per Nursing Act.
• Maintain accurate patient records per legal requirements.
• Assist in orientation, induction and mentoring of nursing staff.
• Relieve duties of supervisor and act as shift-leader on day and night shifts when necessary.

• Perform a clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as
• determined by relevant health facility.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors, other clinicians including report writing when
• required.
• Work effectively, co-operatively and amicably with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences.
• Able to plan and organize own work and that of support personnel to ensure proper nursing care.
• Display a concern for patients promoting and advocating proper treatment and care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs,
• requirements and expectations.

• Manage and supervise effective utilization of all resources e.g. Human, financial, material etc.
• Assist in orientation, induction and mentoring of all nursing staff.
• Assist with relief duties of the supervisor and act as a shift-leader on both day and night shifts when necessary.
