Job summary

Wenz Durbanville is seeking a Professional Architectural Technologist to join a boutique practice. You will prepare drawings, manage documentation and coordinate with consultants across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

The role requires SACAP registration, a related diploma/degree, 3–5 years post-registration experience, and strong drafting skills with knowledge of SA regulations. Portfolio of evidence is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered as Professional Architectural Technologist with SACAP.
• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or related qualification.
• 3–5 years post-registration experience in an architectural practice.
• Proficient in ArchiCAD, Twinmotion and CADDIE.
• Portfolio of evidence required.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of SA building regulations and municipal approval processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop architectural drawings, plans and technical documentation.

About The Role

Our client, a well-established and growing boutique architectural practice based in Durbanville, is seeking a Professional Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic team.

Location:

Durbanville, Cape Town

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop architectural drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
• Produce detailed construction drawings and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
• Assist with the design development and technical execution of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations, SANS standards, and municipal requirements.
• Coordinate project information with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other consultants.
• Prepare documentation for municipal submissions and statutory approvals.
• Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and consultants where required.

Minimum Requirements

• Registered as a Professional Architectural Technologist with SACAP.
• National Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology or related qualification.
• 3-5 years' post-registration experience within an architectural practice.
• Proficient in:

• Twinmotion
• CADDIE
• Experience using additional architectural software packages will be advantageous.
• Must be able to produce a portfolio of evidence.
• Strong understanding of construction detailing and building methods.
• Knowledge of South African building regulations and municipal approval processes.
• Excellent technical drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
