Job summary

MAHLE in Durban, South Africa, is seeking a Production Technician to maintain manufacturing machinery and drive production outputs. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will monitor quality, safety, and efficiency on the shop floor.

With a trade-tested background or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in production, you will identify breakdowns, manage tooling, and uphold health, safety and environmental standards while supporting housekeeping and toolroom routines.

Qualifications

• Trade Tested.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 5 years' experience in a production environment.
• Experience with press machines and associated tooling would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Achieve product output
• Ensure quality and scrap targets are met.
• Managing of tools and equipment. Tools are available and maintained.
• Identify damages and potential breakdowns.
• Ensure that the Health, Safety and Environment standards meet legal requirements. Ensure that all machinery is safe to work on.
• Manage Housekeeping and Toolrooms.
