The role focuses on leading a team of artisans and operators to deliver safe, efficient production of complex machinery, with emphasis on planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy industrial manufacturing, proven leadership, and the ability to drive performance in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably with heavy machinery/mining equipment.
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a production team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and production targets.
• Organize and assign tasks to team members, monitoring progress and providing guidance.
• Ensure quality standards are met for all manufactured components and assemblies.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members are trained on safe operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, materials used, and labor hours.
• Collaborate with engineering and planning departments to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Foster a positive and productive team atmosphere, promoting teamwork and communication.
• Participate in the hiring and training of new team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software or ERP systems is a plus.
• A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Boilermaker, Fitter & Turner) is advantageous.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, balancing on-site supervision with off‑site planning.
