Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a Production Systems Engineer to optimize and integrate production systems, delivering higher efficiency, throughput and performance in a hybrid work setting.

You will design and implement improvements to processes, layouts and material handling, using simulation, mapping and data analysis tools, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, IT and remote colleagues to drive measurable gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production systems/industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with process mapping, simulation, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current production systems and workflows to identify optimization opportunities.
• Design and implement improvements to processes, layouts, and material handling.
• Develop and use process simulation/modeling tools to evaluate changes.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Production Systems Engineer to join their team in Sandton . This hybrid role will focus on optimizing and integrating production systems to enhance efficiency, throughput, and overall operational performance. You will work on designing and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment utilization, often involving advanced technology solutions. By collaborating with production staff, management, and remote engineering colleagues, you will drive measurable improvements in operational effectiveness within a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current production systems and workflows to identify areas for optimization and automation.
• Design and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, layouts, and material handling.
• Develop and utilize process simulation and modeling tools to evaluate potential changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and IT, to ensure effective system integration.
• Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics.
• Lead projects focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production systems engineering, industrial engineering , or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with process mapping, simulation software, and data analysis tools.
