Job summary

SA Metal is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide management support within the Production department, overseeing staff and operations. Responsibilities include ensuring safe equipment, enforcing SOPs, reporting faults, and maintaining documentation such as timesheets and task procedures.

Applicant should have 2–5 years supervisory experience, knowledge of production and maintenance planning, and a willingness to work overtime and night shifts if required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• 2 -- 5 years supervisory experience
• Knowledge of maintenance planning
• Knowledge of production planning
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Willingness to work overtime and night shift as and when required
• Previous experience in a physically demanding working environment would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Manage timesheet and attendance records.
• Motivates team.
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment are checked to be safe and in good working order.
• Report all faults to the necessary departments.
• Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
• Processes operational requirements with the team.
• Facilitates Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
• PPE- Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
• Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.
• Ensures that all Employees' Written Task Procedures are up to date and that they have been explained by the Manager and that Employee understands the contents thereof.
• Ensures that operators have the necessary Licenses & permits where necessary.
• Ensure that general housekeeping is attended to.
