Job summary

AVBOB South Africa is seeking a production supervisor to plan, organize and oversee manufacturing processes. The role includes implementing 5S, coaching staff, and ensuring timely completion of daily schedules while maintaining OSHAS compliance.

Responsibilities cover stock control, tooling operation oversight, monthly counts and training coordination. The candidate will monitor operator performance and address staff issues before HR involvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and oversee production processes.
• Implement and monitor 5S components on the shop floor.
• Coach and mentor subordinates.
• Report machine breakdowns to foreman and ensure timely repair.
• Control materials and stock levels.
• Oversee new products development and production optimisation.
• Conduct monthly stock counts.
• Coordinate and train others.
• Ensure timely completion of jobs and monitor operator performance.
• Perform run-net rate checks periodically.
• Maintain OSHAS compliance.
• Supervise saw operators and material handlers.
• Manufacture according to daily schedule.
• Address employee issues before HR escalation.
• Ensure rotation is systematically implemented.

Job description

Planning, Organizing and overseeing process and production

• Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the 5s components


• Responsible for coaching & mentoring of subordinates


• Report machine breakdowns to foreman and ensure timeous attention to machine issues


• Responsible for all the material and making sure the stock is properly controlled


• Accepting the new products developed and optimising production


• Responsible for all monthly stock counting


• Responsible for co-ordinating and training others


• Ensure jobs are completed in due-time, discipline and monitor operator performance


• Perform run-net rate on the periodically


• OSHAS compliance


• Supervises crew that includes saw operators and Material handlers


• Responsible for manufacturing according to their daily schedule


• Responsible for building coffins and personnel


• Critical (have knowledge of setting Sanding machine, NC Wood Lathe machine, Band sew machine, Scrap crusher machine, Profile or Mould wrapping machine


• Responsible for addressing employee issues before referring them to HR


• Continuously evaluating operators and ensure rotation is systematically implemented
