Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a Production Planner to assist with scheduling and coordinating production activities in a busy Johannesburg plant. You will monitor progress, manage data in ERP, and liaise with procurement, logistics and warehousing to ensure timely delivery of orders.

The role requires a Matric and at least 2 years in a production or planning environment, with SAP-experience and strong MS Office skills. A driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Matric is required and 2+ years in a production or planning environment.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems and basic data handling in spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and good documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation and updating of production schedules based on capacity and deadlines.
• Monitor production progress, identify delays or risks, and inform the PPC Manager.
• Update job statuses in the system and maintain proper documentation.
• Follow up on WIP to align with daily and weekly plans.
• Coordinate with procurement for delivery of long lead-time items.
• Support release of jobs in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and ensure routing/BOM accuracy.
• Assist in managing production data, sales orders and job cards.
• Liaise with logistics and suppliers to follow up on deliveries.
• Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch to ensure jobs are ready for delivery.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with the creation and updating of production schedules based on available capacity and customer deadlines.
• Monitor production progress, identify delays or risks, and inform the PPC Manager.
• Update job statuses in the system and maintain proper documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure alignment with daily and weekly plans.
• Track material availability and coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of long lead-time items.
• Support the release of jobs in ERP systems (e.g., "SAP"), ensuring routing and BOM accuracy.
• Assist in managing and updating production data, sales orders and job cards.
• Liaise with logistics and suppliers to follow up on deliveries and collections.
• Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure jobs are ready for delivery as planned.
• Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly PPC reports for internal meetings.
• Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, production output, and material availability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with basic time studies and layout updates.

Requirements:

• Matric
• At least 2 years of experience in a production or planning environment
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Valid driver's license
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team

Familiarity with the following:

• RPE (Risk and Performance Evaluation)
• Basic understanding of production layouts
