Job summary

HR Management & Support Services seeks a Production Planner for a Gouda-based operation in the Western Cape. The role coordinates and optimizes production schedules, resources, and capacity to ensure timely delivery of products across Edible, Deco and Phytomedicine lines.

You will maintain safety and quality standards, update planning systems, liaise with sales and procurement, and drive at least two innovations monthly to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
• Knowledge of HACCP and BRC.
• Ability to motivate others to meet the schedule.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high occupational safety standards.
• Uphold high product quality.
• Maintain food safety per BRC standards.
• Plan and prepare production schedules for Edible, Deco and Phytomedicine Departments.
• Create works orders for manufactured products.
• Draw up master schedule to meet shipping dates per forecasts or orders.
• Update schedule on the planning systems.
• Draw sales reports and distribute to relevant departments.
• Liaise with sales team on upcoming orders.
• Liaise with procurement about raw material availability.
• Material requirements planning.
• Record daily production.
• Create plans to reduce rework.
• Monitor rework against targets; report weekly progress.
• Maintain the Expedite system.
• Implement at least two new ideas in the department monthly.
