Job summary

PepsiCo Inc. in South Africa is seeking a Production Operator to support the daily packaging line, monitor QC checklists, and help ensure correct orders for local and export markets.

You will operate straw machines, multipackers, and assist with palletizing shrink-wrapped sleeves while maintaining safety, food safety, and EHS standards. This role also provides relief for the Filler Operator during breaks.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• Experience working in an FMCG factory is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety and EHS standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Fill in QC-related checklists every 30 minutes and every hour.
• Ensure the correct order for the day is packed for local/export.
• Operate straw machine to fill and attach straws to cartons.
• Ensure the multipacker clusters 6-pack products, sleeves, and shrink-wrapping.
• Check robot to ensure shrink-wrapped sleeves are packed on pallet.
• Inspect equipment for mechanical malfunctions and report problems; perform safety and loss control.
• Provide relief support when the Filler Operator takes breaks.

• Ensures that the correct order for the day are packed - have to check for local/ export.
• Works at straw machine to ensure always filled and attaching straws to cartons.
• Ensure the multipacker correctly cluster 6-pack products, ensure the multipacker clusters sleeves and that the sleeves are correctly shrink-wrapped.
• Finally check the robot to ensure that the shrink-wrapped sleeves are packed on pallet.
• Inspect equipment for mechanical malfunction and report problems. Perform safety and loss control.
• Works as relief when Filler Operator goes for break.
