Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking a hands-on Production Maintenance Operator to ensure the safe and efficient operation of packaging lines in a South African manufacturing site. You will monitor equipment, perform basic fault finding and first-line repairs while keeping quality and uptime at the forefront.

Responsibilities include completing job cards, recording production data, supporting cost-control by reducing waste and maintaining good housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/NQF 4 with electrical or mechanical trade test.
• Up to 3 years' operator experience in manufacturing.
• Basic computer literacy including MS Office, SAP/ERP.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Negative and Positive Pasting Lines, including the Expander, Tab Blanker, Hopper, Divider and Stacker in accordance with supplier operating manuals.
• Ensure production equipment consistently produces quality products at the required production rates.
• Monitor and maintain extraction and cooling systems to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Carry out first-line repairs and maintenance to minimise equipment failures and production downtime.
• Complete job cards before maintenance work commences.
• Accurately complete production logs, attribute charts and SPC documentation in accordance with work instructions.
• Operate within company procedures, policies and manufacturing standards.
• Identify and report equipment faults, risks and operational concerns to the Section Manager.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Support cost control initiatives by reducing waste and ensuring the effective use of materials and resources.
• Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and internal customers.
• Identify and resolve operational problems while maintaining AutoX's quality and service standards.
