Job summary

Tiger Brands in Durban is seeking applicants for general production and operational duties at the Tastic Rice plant. You will assist with operation of production and packaging equipment, pack and label finished rice products, and help achieve daily targets while maintaining safety, hygiene and quality standards.

You will monitor processes, report abnormalities, minimize waste and support housekeeping, with emphasis on following HACCP/GMP guidelines and site safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent. NQF5 preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, food processing or production is advantageous.
• Experience in rice processing or packaging is an added advantage.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills required.
• Ability to understand and follow work instructions, safety procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation of production and packaging equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Monitor production processes and report equipment abnormalities or problems.
• Assist with packing, handling, labelling and stacking of finished rice products.
• Ensure products are packed to specifications and quality standards.
• Support achievement of daily production targets and operational efficiency.
• Identify and report defects, packaging errors and material wastage.
