Overview

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager: Pharmacist to oversee production operations within a highly regulated manufacturing facility.

This role is ideal for a registered Pharmacist with strong pharmaceutical production experience, sound GMP knowledge, and proven leadership capability within a sterile or aseptic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production operations to ensure maximum output and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with GMP, MCC/SAHPRA, QA processes, and SOP requirements
• Oversee equipment calibration, maintenance, and validation activities
• Manage production assets, consumables, and operational procurement needs
• Compile and review production and management reports
• Lead, coach, and develop production staff
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and maintain a safe working environment
• Develop and maintain SOPs and production-related documentation

Minimum Requirements

• B.Pharm Degree
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
• Minimum 6 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
• At least 1 year exposure to aseptic processing
• 2 years supervisory or management experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Strong understanding of GMP, sterilization methods, validations, and aseptic techniques
• Computer literacy and sound general management capability
