AgroFresh in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks a Production Manager to lead shift-based production, align labour, materials and equipment to meet quality and delivery targets, and drive improvements in safety, efficiency and cost.

You will partner with Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, R&D and Human Capital to ensure consistent operating standards and reliable output in a dynamic, near- and post-harvest solutions environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing with 3+ years leading production teams.
• Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and planning.
• Proven ability to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost.
• Experience using ERP systems and Excel to manage performance.

Responsabilidades

• Lead safe production operations. Ensure safety requirements and housekeeping standards are applied across shifts; address unsafe practices and implement corrective actions.
• Translate demand requirements into achievable production plans; coordinate labour, materials and equipment to meet output, quality and delivery targets; resolve constraints.
• Analyze production losses, identify root causes and implement improvements in throughput, equipment utilization, material yield, changeover times and waste.
• Develop and lead the production team; set expectations for supervisors and employees; coach, train and manage performance with HR support.
• Strengthen equipment reliability; prioritise recurring equipment problems with Maintenance; coordinate planned maintenance.
• Maintain product quality and process control; ensure production meets specs; investigate deviations and reduce rejects.
• Control production costs and resources; monitor labour, overtime, materials, stock variances; implement cost improvements.
• Use data to drive accountability; maintain production records and report performance; communicate risks and recovery plans.
• Support manufacturing development; contribute to capacity planning, equipment upgrades and capital investment.
