Job summary

Greys Recruitment represents a client in the food manufacturing sector seeking a Production Clerk for the Montague Gardens, Cape Town site. You will assist with production planning, labeling, stock and inventory control, and production administration, ensuring records are accurate and compliant.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing and data capturing.
• Experience with ERP systems and BOMs/backflushing.
• Knowledge of inventory control, production batch traceability, GMP and FIFO.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of ERP/PICK.
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Honest, reliable and adaptable with punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate production plans and assist with production scheduling.
• Prepare labels for all products manufactured and verify correctness.
• Record all raw materials received and control issuance to production.
• Maintain stock records, FIFO stock control and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain production records and check documentation; file paperwork.
• Assist production supervisors and ensure traceability of products.
• Stand in to backflush raw materials against approved recipes.
• Process BOMs accurately and confirm quantities.
• Close production batches and perform monthly/annual stock counts.
• Count inventory and assist with variance investigations; maintain housekeeping.
• Follow GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures.

The successful candidate will assist with production planning, product labelling, stock and inventory control, production administration and manufacturing records.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate production plans and assist with production scheduling.
• Prepare labels for all products manufactured.
• Check that labels have the correct product description, product code, batch number, date received or manufactured, expiry/best-before date where applicable and traceability information.
• Check label accuracy before release and ensure labelling follows company procedures.
• Record all raw materials received.
• Control the issuing of raw materials to production.
• Maintain accurate stock records and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Maintain FIFO stock control.
• Maintain production records and check production documentation.
• File production paperwork.
• Assist production supervisors.
• Maintain product and material traceability.
• Stand in to backflush raw materials against approved recipes.
• Process BOMs accurately and confirm quantities.
• Correct transaction errors and close production batches accurately.
• Participate in monthly and annual stock counts.
• Count and record inventory accurately and assist with investigating stock variances.
• Assist with production activities as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Follow GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures.
