Job summary

Pick n Pay Retailers is seeking team members to manufacture/prepare and wrap products according to specifications, price items, check labels, maintain the cold chain, and assist customers with courteous service. This role may transfer between stores and requires strong English communication and a customer-minded approach.

You will ensure hygiene, safety, and stock rotation, work as part of a team, and contribute to waste reduction while upholding daily/weekly budgets.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• Must reside close to store and be able to communicate in English.
• Experience in customer service and handling transactions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Approach and advise customers on the product, listen to requests and provide the required products or services.
• Process customer orders according to correct procedures and service standards.
• Promote products and communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
• Ensure hygiene, housekeeping, safety standards and stock rotation.

Manufacture/ prepare and/ or wrap products according to specifications/ standards and daily/ weekly budgets Correctly price random weight/ loose selling items Check correct pricing e.g Labels Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/ expired stock is removed Prevent wastage/ shrinkage/ damages Check temperatures/ maintain the cold chain Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained (floor back-up) Ensure security procedures are adhered to Operate and clean equipment according to laid down standards Approach and advise customers on the product, listen to customers’ requests, provide the required product or services and handle customers in a courteous and professional manner Process all customer orders according to the correct procedures and servce standards Promote products Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers Matric Must reside close to store Able to manufacture / produce various meat products e.g. sausage, mince etc. Must be able to communicate in English Note: The incumbent may also be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time. This position will require transferability between stores.
