The Markets Trading Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance of Markets trading systems. This role provides essential support to trading and business teams, drives continuous improvement through process optimization and technology solutions, and facilitates business continuity by translating business requirements into sustainable technology solutions. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, manage change initiatives, maintain operational documentation, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a stable production environment through effective support of trading and business teams, process optimization, and solution implementation for the Markets business.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve business processes and systems, adding value to the organization.
- Implement robust solutions based on business requirements specifications to ensure effective business continuity.
- Participate in projects as a consultant or specialist, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure optimal functioning of trading systems by configuring them for peak performance and continuously improving existing processes and functionality.
- Document relevant processes, procedures, and policies for system support.
- Document troubleshooting procedures for incident recovery and successful handover of system support to relevant GT support areas, including training.
- Manage the security and regulatory compliance of trading systems.
- Maintain optimized communication channels and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Elicit, analyze, and validate requirements for changes to trading systems within the markets business.
- Participate in change processes and collaborate effectively with other technology delivery areas contributing to the Markets business.
- Identify training needs and career progression opportunities based on feedback.
- Complete all personal development plan activities within specified timeframes.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with the team and stakeholders.
- Obtain buy‑in for developing and/or enhancing operational processes to improve business functioning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Essential Qualification: NQF Level: BSc Computer Science/IT/Maths/Engineering/Statistics, BCom Information Systems/Finance/Investments, or BTech IT, Engineering, Maths, Business Analytics.
- Minimum Experience: 2-3 years supporting trading systems.
- Exposure:
- Interacting with diverse individuals.
- Understanding various Markets value chain businesses (Trading, Treasury, Sales, Operations, Finance, Market Risk).
- Effective stakeholder management of cross-functional teams.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
