Job summary

Takealot Group is seeking a Product Lead for Dark Store Systems in South Africa. You will own the strategic roadmap and requirements for the hyper-local micro-fulfillment network, bridging operations, commercial teams, and engineering to enable ultra-fast delivery.

You will establish core software foundations for dark store operations, ensuring seamless inventory movement from central supply chain to the customer’s digital basket and then to the on-demand delivery fleet.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in a related field with at least 7 years of software product management experience.
5+ years of Product Management experience handling enterprise WMS, IMS, or localized fulfillment software.

Responsibilities

Drive the functional requirements for a scalable Warehouse Management System (WMS) tailored for rapid dark store picking and integration with core systems.
Own product requirements for stock transfer workflows between Main DCs and local dark stores; define replenishment logic.
Establish data freshness SLAs and business rules for displaying live stock to online platforms with high throughput, low latency.
Define rules for dynamic inventory safety buffers and stock caching to prevent stockouts.
Own the digital workflow from packing to on-demand driver handoff.
