Job summary

Takealot Group in Cape Town seeks a Product Lead to own the Dark Store Systems roadmap, bridging operations, commercial and engineering for ultra-fast delivery. You will establish core software foundations for dark store operations, ensuring real-time stock visibility and seamless handoffs to the delivery fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma with 7+ years in software product management.
• Experience with warehouse management and fulfillment systems (WMS/IMS).
• Strong API, middleware, and ERP integration experience (e.g., Oracle WMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead WMS vendor selection and implementation roadmap for scalable dark store picking.
• Own stock transfer workflows between Main DCs and local dark stores.
• Define live stock visibility rules and data freshness SLAs for online platforms.
• Create inventory safety buffers and stock caching logic to prevent stockouts.
• Own the digital flow from packing to on-demand driver handoff.
