Job summary

Isilumko Staffing in Weltevredenpark, Gauteng, seeks a Procurement Transformation Specialist to drive procurement transformation, Preferential Procurement, Supplier Development and B-BBEE initiatives across the mining and manufacturing sectors. The role focuses on improving compliance, stakeholder engagement and sustainable procurement practices.

You will provide specialist advice, guide stakeholders on compliance, develop procedures, monitor performance and report on transformation progress

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' procurement experience in mining/manufacturing/industrial environments.
• At least 2 years' experience in Procurement Transformation, Supplier Development or Preferential Procurement.
• Experience in Preferential Procurement, Supplier Development, Supplier Relationship Management, and Procurement Compliance and Reporting.
• CIPS qualification or SAPICS membership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and support to Procurement, Sourcing, and Operational teams regarding Preferential Procurement, Local Procurement, B-BBEE, and Supplier Development strategies.
• Guide internal stakeholders in meeting regulatory, transformation, and procurement compliance requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining centralized procurement procedures, checklists, guidelines, and management tools to support transformation objectives.
• Monitor and report on procurement transformation performance, identifying gaps and recommending improvement initiatives.
• Communicate scorecard performance and compliance status regularly to key stakeholders.
• Coordinate and facilitate audits relating to Preferential Procurement and Supplier Development activities.
• Identify non-compliance risks and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Maintain records required for B-BBEE verification and regulatory inspections.
• Serve as liaison with community forums and external stakeholders regarding procurement transformation and supplier development.
• Compile and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement transformation reports.
• Support supplier relationship management initiatives to develop qualifying suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transformation performance and compliance.

Procurement Transformation Specialist

Reporting To: National Procurement Manager

About the Role

An established organisation within the mining and manufacturing sector is seeking a Procurement Transformation Specialist to support the development and execution of Procurement Transformation, Preferential Procurement, Supplier Development, and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving compliance, supplier development, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable procurement practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and support to Procurement, Sourcing, and Operational teams regarding Preferential Procurement, Local Procurement, B-BBEE, and Supplier Development strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Commercial, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, or a related field.

• CIPS qualification/membership or equivalent professional certification (e.g., SAPICS) will be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' procurement experience within a mining, manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.

• At least 2 years' experience in a Procurement Transformation, Supplier Development, or Preferential Procurement role.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of B-BBEE legislation, scorecards, and procurement transformation principles.

• Knowledge of Mining Charter requirements will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier development frameworks.

• Experience using SAP (MM, FI, and PM modules).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Understanding of supplier performance monitoring and reporting.
