Job summary

Objective Personnel in Johannesburg is seeking a procurement professional with 3 to 5 years of experience to source parts, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships. The role requires reading drawings and a solid understanding of purchasing processes, with ISO 9001 compliance as a core duty.

The ideal candidate will have ERP or accounting software experience, be able to work under pressure, and collaborate with Stores, Workshop, QC and Management to meet deadlines and drive cost

Qualifications

• Matric or Senior Certificate is required.
• 3 to 5 years procurement experience preferred in engineering, manufacturing, mining or heavy-equipment environments.
• Able to read drawings and component diagrams is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic or engineering components is an asset.
• Computer skills and ERP/accounting systems experience essential.
• Work under pressure and manage multiple orders and deadlines; ensure compliance with ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase parts, components, raw materials, consumables and services.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Work closely with Stores, Workshop, QC, Service and Management.
• Resolve issues with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate ongoing problems.
• Ensure procurement aligns with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Assist with cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability.
