Job summary

Objective Personnel in Gauteng seeks an experienced procurement professional to source parts, materials and services for engineering and heavy industry. You will manage supplier quotations, negotiate terms and collaborate with Stores, Workshop and QC to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 3–5 years of procurement experience, reading drawings when necessary and strong ERP/Accounting system skills. ISO 9001 compliance and cost-saving initiatives are part of the daily duties.

Qualifications

• Matric / Senior Certificate.
• 3–5 years procurement experience in engineering, manufacturing, mining or heavy-equipment environments.
• Experience reading drawings and component diagrams is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic or engineering components is beneficial.
• Computer skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders and deadlines.
• Compliance with company and ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase parts, components, raw materials, consumables and services.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Work closely with Stores, Workshop, QC, Service and Management.
• Resolve any issues with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and elevate ongoing problems.
• Ensure procurement is conducted in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Assist with cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability.
