Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Procurement Specialist to join the SCM team in Kimberley. The role focuses on cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and supplies, while managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations to support manufacturing and operations.

You will analyze market trends, optimize procurement processes, and collaborate with production, QA, and finance to ensure supply chain alignment and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• 3+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably FMCG.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for assigned categories with timely delivery and competitive pricing.

About the Role

Our client, a leading organization in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a skilled and meticulous Procurement Specialist to join their supply chain team in Kimberley. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies necessary for product manufacturing and operations. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing the procurement process to support business growth and maintain product quality. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, contracts, and pricing.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring their performance and ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
• Analyze market trends and commodity prices to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including production, quality assurance, and finance, to understand their needs and ensure supply chain alignment.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations in procurement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
