About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Process Plant Operator to join their operations in Welkom . This role is essential for the day-to-day functioning of our processing facilities, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of materials and the operation of complex machinery. You will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, maintaining equipment, and adhering strictly to operational protocols. This is a hands-on position for an individual who is committed to operational excellence and safety within the Oil & Gas and related processing industries in the Free State province.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor process equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and control systems.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material handling, processing, and product transfer.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and process upsets.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational data, including production rates, temperatures, and pressures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Proven experience as a Process Plant Operator or in a similar industrial operational role.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazardous material handling.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing stairs, lifting moderate weights, and working in various environmental conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
