Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking an experienced Senior Production Operator to join their expanding Oil & Gas operations. You will monitor equipment, perform routine maintenance, and help ensure production targets are met while upholding the highest safety standards in a critical industrial hub.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience, the ability to read P&IDs, and a Matriculation certificate.

Qualifications

• Matriculation certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Production Operator in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Ability to read P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).

Responsabilités

• Operate and monitor production equipment, including pumps, compressors, separators, and valves.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery.
• Respond promptly to alarms and operational upsets, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of production volumes, equipment status, and any operational issues encountered.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior operators.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Production Operator to join their expanding operations in Richards Bay. This role is essential for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of oil and gas production facilities. You will be responsible for monitoring equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that production targets are met while upholding the highest safety standards in a critical industrial hub for the Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment, including pumps, compressors, separators, and valves.


• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery.

Requirements

• Certification in First Aid and safety procedures is advantageous.


• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
