Placements24 is seeking an experienced Process Engineer specializing in hydrometallurgy for our facility near Mahikeng, North West. You will design, optimize, and support hydrometallurgical circuits to improve recovery and efficiency while ensuring environmental compliance.

The role requires a strong background in leaching, SX, EW, and related kinetics/thermodynamics, with hands-on problem solving and collaboration across teams.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering with hydrometallurgy focus.
• Experience with leaching, ion exchange, SX and EW.
• Solid knowledge of kinetics, thermodynamics and solution chemistry.
• Experience with process simulation software is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with team collaboration.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in mining and chemical processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and operating procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations specific to the mining and chemical processing industries.
• Collaborate with metallurgists, geologists, and operations teams to achieve production targets.
• Assist in the design and commissioning of new process equipment and plant modifications.
• Perform mass and energy balances for process units.

Requirements
