Placements24 in Rustenburg is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer with hydrometallurgy expertise to oversee design, implementation and optimization of complex processes in our mining operations.

You will lead a team of engineers, drive process improvements, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and deliver technical reports and economic evaluations.

The role requires a chemical engineering or metallurgy degree and at least seven years of hands-on experience in hydrometallurgy.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on hydrometallurgy within the mining or metals industry.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing process-related projects.
• In-depth knowledge of metallurgical unit operations such as leaching, precipitation, ion exchange, and electrolysis.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HSC Chemistry, Metix, JKSimMet) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and their application.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and make sound engineering judgments.
