Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a Process Engineer to optimise production processes, solve day-to-day challenges, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to boost plant performance. This hands-on role offers growth opportunities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical, process, mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 3–7 years of process engineering experience in plant/production.
• Registered with ECSA (or working towards registration) – preferred.
• Strong understanding of process optimisation, mass/energy balances, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP or similar systems a plus.
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to write clear reports.
• Independent and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable in an active plant/operational environment.
• Understanding of SA HSE legislation and ISO standards is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise plant processes to improve efficiency, yield and quality.
• Identify and investigate process problems and implement practical solutions.
• Support new projects, process changes and equipment commissioning.
• Conduct process audits, root cause analyses, and write technical reports.
• Work with maintenance and operations teams on shutdowns and improvements.
• Ensure processes comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Track KPIs and report on process performance.
• Assist with training of operators and junior team members.

Must Have

• Experience with process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen, HYSYS) is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical mindset
• Good communication skills – able to work across teams and write clear reports
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at once
• Comfortable working in an active plant / operational environment
• Understanding of South African HSE legislation and ISO standards is an advantage
