Placements24 in East London seeks a highly skilled Process Chemist to join their manufacturing and development team. The role focuses on developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes for API production, translating laboratory work into robust manufacturing methods.

You will work in a lab and pilot plant setting to ensure reliable supply of high-quality APIs throughout development to market in the Eastern Cape facility.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Organic Chemistry, Process Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in process chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
• Experience with process scale-up, optimization, and technology transfer.
• Familiarity with ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for API manufacturing.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as NMR, HPLC, GC, and MS.

This role is focused on developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes for the efficient and safe production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). You will work in a laboratory and pilot plant setting, translating laboratory-scale synthesis into robust, cost-effective manufacturing processes. As a Process Chemist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable supply of high-quality APIs, contributing directly to our product's journey from development to market within the Eastern Cape facility.
