Qualifications

• Experience in private client matters including wills, trusts and estate administration.
• Hands-on probate and intestacy experience.
• Experience with grants of representation and inheritance tax returns.
• Drafting wills and powers of attorney.
• Court of Protection deputyship experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive client information discreetly.
• Proactive, client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on wills, trusts, estate planning and estate administration.
• Manage probate and intestacy matters and grants of representation.
• Draft wills and lasting powers of attorney.
• Handle Court of Protection deputyship cases.
• Draft and review legal documents.
• Manage a varied caseload with high standards of client care.
• Liaise with financial institutions, tax authorities, other solicitors and third parties.
• Negotiate on behalf of clients and advocate effectively for their interests.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation and good practice affecting private client work.
• Explain relevant tax considerations and estate-planning options to clients.
