Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking Printer Assistants for a fast-paced corrugated packaging production environment. You will support printing machine operations, maintain production quality standards, and assist with efficient machine performance within the department.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent is required.
• Qualification in Corrugated Board Printing and Finishing Machine Minding.
• Understanding of ink viscosity, colour matching, and printing production processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with setup and operation of printing equipment.
• Support production runs to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Operate machinery at a competent level when required.
• Monitor print quality and identify deviations during production.
• Support colour matching and ink viscosity control processes.
• Ensure production standards and quality requirements are met at all times.
• Escalate quality concerns promptly to supervisors.
• Assist with production system feedback and operational processes.
• Support machine availability and efficiency initiatives.
• Follow supervisors’ instructions and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and adhere to ISO procedures.
• Promote safe working practices in the manufacturing environment.

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Printer Assistants to join its production team within a fast-paced corrugated packaging environment.

This role is ideal for individuals with exposure to printing and finishing operations who are eager to grow their skills within a production-driven manufacturing environment.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for supporting printing machine operations, maintaining production quality standards, and assisting with efficient machine performance within the production department.

The role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to operate effectively within a shift-based manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operation Support

• Assisting machine operators with setup and operation of printing equipment
• Assisting during production runs to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
• Operating machinery at an acceptable competency level when required

Production Quality & Monitoring

• Monitoring print quality and identifying deviations during production
• Supporting colour matching and ink viscosity control processes
• Ensuring production standards and quality requirements are maintained at all times
• Escalating quality concerns to operators or supervisors promptly

Production & Operational Support

• Assisting with production system feedback and operational processes
• Supporting machine availability and operational efficiency initiatives
• Carrying out instructions from supervisors and production leadership
• Contributing to continuous improvement within the department

Housekeeping, Safety & Compliance

• Maintaining high housekeeping standards within the production area
• Ensuring adherence to ISO procedures and operational standards
• Supporting safe working practices within the manufacturing environment
