Job summary

JVR Software is seeking a senior data platform engineer in Johannesburg to own and maintain a PostgreSQL data warehouse and cloud-based data services. You will design pipelines, APIs, and platform services while ensuring data accuracy, security, and availability across key business systems.

The role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience and at least 3 years owning data platforms or cloud-based services, with strong skills in PostgreSQL, SQL, Node.js, Python, REST, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS or related field.
• 8+ years software engineering experience.
• 3+ years owning or supporting data platforms, integrations, APIs, or cloud-based services.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, Node.js, Python, REST APIs, Git/GitHub, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities
