Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti in Johannesburg seeks a Principal, Project Civil & Structural Engineer to act as the civil/structural SME within the Global Projects function, driving technical assurance, structural integrity and lean infrastructure from concept to execution.

The role leads cross-functional teams across geotechnical, seismic and hydrological disciplines, manages EPCM interfaces, and champions Safety in Design and constructability reviews while shaping major inorganic growth projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional/Chartered Engineer registration (e.g., ECSA, CPEng, PE).

Responsibilities

• Technical assurance of civil/structural deliverables.
• Lead lean infrastructure and MVS opportunities.
• Governance of third-party geotechnical/seismic/hydrological work.
• Coordinate interface with EPCM and commercial packages.
• Lead Safety in Design and risk reviews (SiD, HAZID, HAZOP).
