A global reinsurance business is expanding its pricing function and seeking two high-calibre professionals to join their team in Cape Town. This presents a compelling opportunity for technically strong, analytically driven individuals with a background in non-life (short-term) insurance or reinsurance pricing.

Location: Cape Town, South Africa (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Relocation: We welcome applications from candidates open to relocating to Cape Town, in addition to local talent.

Key Responsibilities
- Price reinsurance treaties across multiple classes of business and international markets
- Develop and improve pricing models and methodologies
- Analyse historical loss data and emerging trends to support pricing decisions
- Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams on risk assessment and pricing strategy
Senior Analyst – Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of experience in reinsurance pricing (preferred) or non-life insurance pricing
- Strong technical background in statistics, actuarial science, or related disciplines
- Proficient in or able to read code in VBA, SAS, or SQL
- Demonstrated ability to mentor or guide junior team members
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Progress in actuarial exams is advantageous, but experience is key
Pricing Analyst (Mid-Level) – Ideal Profile
- 2–5 years’ experience in non-life insurance or reinsurance pricing
- Technical proficiency and analytical strength
- Exposure to or interest in pricing tools and coding languages (e.g., SQL, VBA, SAS)
- Self-motivated, curious, and willing to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team
- Solid foundation in statistical or actuarial principles
Important to Note
- Preference will be given to South African citizens or foreign nationals currently based in South Africa
- Limited international travel may be required
